What This Is Not

If you are reading this, there is a reasonable chance you have already done some executive coaching, a deep-work mastermind, a silent retreat, a Hoffman-style intensive, plant medicine with a competent facilitator, a somatic or trauma modality, and at least one programme that promised to be different. You are entitled to ask why this is not simply another iteration.

Not the next thing on the list

The honest answer is structural. Everything on that list operates on the premise that the pattern is held in the person and must be moved through them. This does not. That is the whole of the difference, and it is either true or it isn't: not a matter of degree, quality, or facilitator skill.

What you would notice first is the absence of the aftermath. Standard deep work shakes loose only what is accessible to cognition, a small fraction of what causes the subjective qualities in question, so months are then spent putting yourself back together while what changed and what still needs to change slowly reconcile. Not coaching

Coaching rests on three things that are wrong here: an ethical framework built on the practitioner having no view about your direction, a billable hour as the unit of work, and a crowded field of credentialed practitioners. The practitioner does hold a view about direction, the constraint on it is published on The Constraint, and most of the work does not happen in the hour.

Some of a session would be recognisable to a good coach. The apparatus is conventional and deliberately so. That is professional hygiene, not the offering.

Not therapy, medicine, or care

Nothing here is medical, psychiatric, or psychological treatment. No mental or physical health outcome is claimed, implied, or available. If a health matter is live, the appropriate professional is a physician or psychologist, and an engagement will be declined or deferred until that relationship is in place.

Not a lineage

There is no transmitted tradition behind this. No initiatory chain, no recovered text, no teacher in whose line he stands. The claim is standing, not lineage, and standing is not conferred by texts, not replicable by procedure, and not acquired by reading how it was done.

That is a narrower claim than most of this field makes, and it is why it can be stated plainly.

Not available to everyone who can pay

Approaches are declined on written criteria, so that a decline is a reason rather than a mood. Engagements are not accepted where:

• The principal is under conservatorship, or capacity is in question
• There is an active health crisis, or serious illness in the principal or an immediate family member
• The approach is driven by acute grief
• The principal cannot identify a person in their own life with standing to raise a concern about the relationship
• The premises of the work are accepted without any examination at all
• The identity of the principal would be unknown to the practitioner

The fifth surprises people. An absence of scepticism is not readiness. It is the most reliable signal available that someone should not proceed, and it is a decline.

Prices do not move. No discount, no negotiated rate, no exception, in either direction. Where the work is warranted and cannot be paid for, the route is a Foundation fellowship at full rate, decided by people other than him.
